Michael Eugene Phend, 65, Pierceton, passed away onat 8:12 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019 , in his residence.

Michael was born on Dec. 6, 1954, in Fort Wayne, to Robert and Marge (Johnson) Phend.

He has been a resident in the Pierceton, IN area since 1971. He was united in marriage to Sharon Nettrouer on August 12, 1994, in Warsaw, Indiana. Michael was an employee for Dana Axel Corp, Syracuse, IN.

Michael is survived by children, Julie Phend, of Roanoke, IN, Melanie Jo (Martaze) Scruggs, of Lavonia, Ga.; Jacob (fiancé Christina George) Phend, of Pierceton; mother, Marge Phend of South Whitley; sisters, Rebecca Phend and Rose Phend, both of South Whitley; in addition, Michael is survived by 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Kay Phend on Oct. 14, 2013, and his father.

Visitation hours are scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Private interment services will be held.
