SIDNEY — A log in the roadway caused a rollover accident resulting in a minor injury, Sunday morning, Dec. 22.

The accident happened at 10:23 a.m. on South CR 700E near East CR 750S, northwest of Sidney and southwest of Pierceton.

The driver, Ashton G. Shepherd, 16, Country Club Road, Warsaw, said he was driving south on South CR 700E approaching a hill in the roadway, according to an accident report from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office. Once he crested the hill, he saw a log in the roadway. Shepherd said that he swerved his vehicle to avoid hitting the log but could not avoid it. The vehicle left the east side of the road and overturned.

Shepherd suffered minor bleeding to his face. He was taken by Lutheran EMS to Kosciusko Community Hospital, according to an accident report.
