WARSAW — Girl Scout Troop 10380 recently collected over 130 pounds of candy that were “Halloween leftovers” people wanted to have to go to a good cause.

Donation boxes were set up at a host of local businesses form Nov. 1 to 8. The candy will go to organizations and businesses with kids who can use it. The candy was donated to Baker Youth Club, Fellowship Missions and God’s Highway to Heaven Food Pantry.

The six Girl Scouts organized the candy drive to work toward their Silver Award, the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can earn. They will also plan outreach programs to teach kids about healthy eating, enjoying candy in moderation. Troop 10380 would like to thank all of the businesses who set out a donation box and everyone in the community who donated their extra candy.
