James P. Berner JR, 58, Pierceton, passed away at 12:18 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, in Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw. James was born on Jan. 1, 1961 in Warsaw, to James P. and Paula Ann (Smith) Berner, SR. He was united in marriage to Sharon DeVille on Sept. 10, 2016, at Ridinger Lake in Kosciusko County.

James lived his lifetime as a resident in Pierceton, Indiana. He worked as a machinist for Paragon Medical Inc. Pierceton for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #258 in Pierceton and the Sons of the American Legion.

James is survived by Sharon Berner of Pierceton; children, Laura (Jeremiah) Tucker of Columbia City; James P. Berner, III of Warsaw; Tyler Berner of Claypool; step-children, Sarah (Dewey) Reimer of Pierceton; Brian Stratton of Warsaw; Stephanie (Zachary) Lee of Pierceton; father, James P. (Marilyn) Berner of Warsaw; brother, Michael (Katie D’Alessio) Berner of Glendale, Ariz.; sister, Susan (Loren) Burch of Warsaw; in addition, he is survived by 16 grandchildren and one great- grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother, and great -grandson, Tatum Berner.

A visitation will be held from  5-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is entrusted with his care.
