Kosciusko County

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

10:52 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, East CR 650N and North CR 650E, North Webster. Drivers:  Christian J. Hensley, 20, East CR 800N, Syracuse; and James R. Kilgore, 36, Raggedy Ann Road, Cromwell. Hensley’s vehicle pulled into the path of Kilgore’s vehicle, resulting in a collision. Damage up to $25,000. 

7:28 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, South CR 600W, south of Holderman Road, Silver Lake. Driver: Parker J. Groninger, 18, Shilling Road, Mentone. Groninger’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $10,000.

7:14 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, North CR 700W, north of Snyder Road, Warsaw. Driver: Richard K. Coffey, 63, South Street, New Vienna, Ohio. Vehicle went off the roadway, and both side curtain airbags were deployed. Coffey drove the vehicle back into a nearby driveway. Damage up to $10,000.

6:01 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, East CR 700S, west of County Farm Road, Claypool. Driver: Toby J. Slone, 46, Main Street, Claypool. Slone’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $2,500. 

4:16 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, SR 13 and East CR 500N, North Webster. Drivers: Phoenyx Niedermeyer, 16, East CR 500N, North Webster; and Jane M. Ciriello, 55, Creek Bend Lane, Milford. Niedermeyer’s vehicle rear-ended Ciriello’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500. 

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

5:46 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Driver: Chaitanya Yarabati, 29, Briar Ridge Circle, Warsaw. According to the police report, Yarabati told police he pulled into a parking space in the Walmart parking lot and said he believed he had put his vehicle in “park” before exiting the vehicle; however, as he opened the door to get out, the vehicle began to back up and struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle which was to the left of Yarabati’s vehicle. Yarabati said he then put his vehicle in “drive” and pulled back into the parking space. He stated he then forgot to put his vehicle in “park” and when he took his foot off the brake pedal, his vehicle struck another vehicle, which was parked in front of Yarabati’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000. 

7:20 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, Detroit Street, north of West CR 300N, Warsaw. Drivers: Melissa M. Miranda, 32, Cherry Street, Warsaw; and Earl D. Houseman, 43, Townline Road, Ligonier. Miranda’s vehicle rear-ended Houseman’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
