Lakeland built a lead in the first half and maintained it against their rivals.

Bethany took a 15-9 lead after a quarter, only for LCA to outscore the visitors 13-5 in the second quarter to take a four-point lead, 22-18, at the half. LCA took a five-point lead, 29-24, into the fourth and held on for the win.

Jessi Calizo led the Cougars with 17 points, eight rebounds, four steals and four assists. Tori Calizo had seven points and 12 rebounds and Natalie Norris chipped in seven points and a pair of steals.

Sadie Brenneman led Bethany with 24 points and Maddie Chupp added 12 points.

NORTHRIDGE 61, WAWASEE 36

Northridge kept Wawasee at arm’s length in picking up a win a road win in the Northern Lakes Conference.

Ridge ran out to a 20-8 first quarter lead, then pulled away with a 16-4 second quarter to take a 36-12 into the break.

Jaci Walker and Colleen Miller each scored 12 points for Northridge while Juliana Weaver pitched in 11 points. Danielle Jenkins led the hosts with 13 points, two rebounds and two assists. Jada Carter scored 12 points in the loss. Wawasee struggled in conversions, having just four assists to 28 turnovers on the night.
