Billie A. Mishler, 60, Columbia City, passed away at 12:27 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born February 13, 1959 in Warsaw, she was the daughter of Franklin J. Frey and Edith Evelyn (Harmon) Hackworth Frey.
She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1977. On February 28, 1981, she married Tim D. Mishler. Between Estlick Girvin Lefever and Star Insurance Agency, Billie worked for over 25 years, retiring as a Commercial Line Representative. Family meant the most to Billie and she adored her three grandchildren. She enjoyed scrapbooking, shopping and traveling with Tim. Her family will miss all the gatherings and her wonderful cooking and desserts. Billie was very loving, generous, giving and had a silly sense of humor.
Survivors include her loving husband, Tim Mishler; father, Frank (Laura) Frey; daughters, Heather (Dereck) Cody of South Whitley; and Autumn Mishler of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Arissa, Brooklyn and Shay; twin sister, Barb Engle of Columbia City; step-sister, Karen Rhinehart of Kendallville; and brother, David (Deb) Hackworth of Columbia City. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Hackworth Frey; and sister, Sandra Lou Lackey.
A gathering of family and friends will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus officiating. With a love for animals, memorial gifts may be given in Billie’s memory to the Humane Society of Whitley County, who she proudly supported over the years.
