Bernice Rule, 93, of Wabash and formerly of Mentone, passed at away 10:58 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019, at Bickford Assisted Living of Wabash.

She was born on March 5, 1926, in Jasper to the late John and Elizabeth (Dick) Klingel. She married on June 25, 1949, in Warsaw to Floyd W. Rule Jr., who preceded her on Aug. 20, 2014.
Bernice was a homemaker. She had attended the Indiana School for the Deaf of Indianapolis. She was involved with the Deaf Senior Citizens Club of Mishawaka. Bernice and her husband enjoyed going out to eat at many area restaurants. She had been a long-time member of the Mentone United Methodist Church.
Survivors include nieces and nephews Cindy Goodnight, LaFontaine, Sylvia Haney, Friendsville, Tenn., Dorothy Tyler, Jasper, Sr. Mary Beth Klingel, St. Mary of the Woods, John Klingel, Lakeworth, Fla., June Schnaus, Jasper, Karen Schultz, Jasper, Tom Klingel, North Potomac, Md., Jan Neukam, Louisville, Ky., and Robert Klingel, Jasper.
She also is survived by her close friend and interpreter Pat Lancet, Argos.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd, a sister, and 5 brothers.
Funeral services will be at 11 am, Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, at King Memorial Home, 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana with Pastor Jason Rice officiating and Pat Lancet signing for the hearing impaired.
Burial will take place in the Stony Point Cemetery, Etna Green, Indiana.
Visitation hours will be from 10 am to 11 am, Tuesday, Dec. 3, at King Memorial Home, Mentone.
Donations can be made in her memory to the Mentone United Methodist Church.
