PIERCETON — Katey Wilks Zemen has resigned from her position as executive director of the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County.

According to AWL Board President Beth Harrison, Zemen resigned from the position about four weeks ago. The interview process for a new executive director is currently underway.

A reason for Zemen’s resignation was not given.

Zemen started her role as executive director on May 3, 2018. She graduated from Butler University with an arts administration degree focused on non-profit work. She was also the former executive director of the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir.

Zemen replaced Darla McCammon, who retired after 10 years of working at the AWL.
