AKRON – Some late team points afforded Tippecanoe Valley enough to get past Knox, 87-85, Monday night in girls swimming at Valley.

First and third in the breaststroke, along with a win in the final 400 free relay lifted Valley to the win in what was a solid team effort.

Olivia Livengood was responsible for two individual wins and was on the winning 400 free relay. Livengood won the individual medley (2:40.80) and the butterfly (1:09.33), then anchored the relay to a 4:28.22 clincher. Also swimming on the 400 relay were Makena Smith, Jerzey Conley and Shayleigh Honeycutt.

Honeycutt won the breaststroke (1:23.26) and had Hannah Lowman take third, grabbing crucial late points.

Maddie Woodward won the 50 free (31.64), and joined Smith, Honeycutt and Nicole Ziemek to post a 2:22.02 in the opening medley relay for a win.

Valley (1-0) visits NorthWood next Monday for a boys/girls double dual.
