Within two minutes of firefighters arriving at the scene the fire went from a window to billowing out of the structure.

MILFORD — Milford Fire Department, with a full assist from Leesburg Fire Department, responded to a house fire shortly after 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at 303 S. West St.

Flames could be seen coming out of a window of a home at 303 SS. West St., Milford before erupting through additional windows and the roof.

Milford Police Department heard the initial call and responded, observing flames coming out of a window. It wasn’t long before flames shot up into the air from several windows and what appeared to be the roof. All occupants home at the time of the fire were able to escape without injury.

The home, according to the county’s GIS Mapping System, is owned by Douglas and Crystal Lewallen.

Extensive damage was sustained to the interior of the mobile home.

Firefighters are still at the scene.

Motorist should avoid the area of First and West streets as the fire department is obtaining water to battle the fire from a hydrant on the northwest side of First and West streets.
