WARSAW — Dr. Phil Downs, superintendent of Southwest Allen County Schools and Indiana Superintendent of the Year, will hold a presentation from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7.
The presentation will take place at the Warsaw Performing Arts Center at Warsaw Community High School.
Downs’ presentation, “Follow the Money: An Analysis of Why Public Education Funding Is Not Keeping Pace In Indiana” is a great opportunity to become educated on an important topic impacting schools today.
Downs will discuss how much state spending has increased while the funding of public schools is behind inflation. He will also explain how vouchers further impact school financing negatively, where the voucher money ends up and how there is no public accountability for how voucher dollars are spent.
