WARSAW — A Columbia City man is testing the market in Warsaw for authentic Indian food.

Originating at the Kwik Mart on East Chicago Street in Columbia City, Bomy Singh brought “Bomy’s Authentic Indian Food” to Warsaw following some positive responses he received from working several First Fridays in Warsaw earlier this year.

Singh has been serving Indian food at the Phillips 66 on Center Street, near US 30, in Warsaw since October. For now, he serves during the afternoons and evenings at the Warsaw location on most Wednesdays and Fridays. Singh encourages customers to follow his Facebook to stay up to date on when he will be in Warsaw.

If the positive response remains, he may expand his offerings at Phillips 66 to more days of the week, Singh said.

The menu at the Warsaw location provides a sampling of authentic Indian food. Customers have the opportunity to sample dishes such as Chicken Mushroom, Paneer Makhani and Saag Paneer. They have the choice of two entrees with rice and bread or one entree in a 12 oz. container, also with rice and bread. Singh changes the menu depending on the customers’ purchases.

The average price for a dish purchased from Singh is no more than $10.

In addition to the Columbia City and Warsaw locations, Singh is working on launching a food truck early next year. He intends to manage all three operations.
