Tippecanoe Valley’s Soils 4-H Team Places Second In State Competition

AKRON — The Tippecanoe Valley Soils 4-H Team finished second in the state to earn a trip to a national contest in Oklahoma next May.

On Oct. 19, the Tippecanoe Valley Soils Teams competed in the state contest in Adams County. Valley had both an FFA team and a 4-H team. The 4-H team members are Nicole Ziemek, Sarah Kelley, Brandt Alber and Grant Nelson. The FFA team members are Alexis Evans, Allisyn Evans and Chris Borsa. Students evaluated four sites for physical features and management use.

Ziemek was 5th high individual, Kelley was 6th high individual and Alber was 11th high individual. Both teams are coached by Michael Jones, Tippecanoe Valley FFA advisor and 4-H volunteer.
