SOUTH WHITLEY — Just after 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, first responders were called to 7439 East CR 1050S, South Whitley, for a house fire.

According to the Beacon system, the home belongs to Jerry and Lana West, South Whitley. It is unknown how the fire started or if anyone was injured.

A large section of the house appeared to be gutted by the fire.

Sidney Fire and Pierceton Fire departments assisted.
