North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department Investigated the following accident:
6:20 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, North SR 13 near CR 850 North, North Webster. Drivers: Philip R. Menzie, 68, South Robinson Lake Road, Pierceton; and Sonya R. Wroblewski, 42, South East Street, North Webster. Menzie was driving his vehicle north on SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. Wroblewski was driving her vehicle south on SR 13 when she collided with the deer already in the roadway following Menzie’s collision. Damages up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to the following accidents:
7:37 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, North SR 15 near Petro Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Kiel E. Pratt, 36, West CR 550 South, Claypool; and Rachel R. Ryan, 28, North CR 175 East, Warsaw. Pratt said he was stopped in his vehicle facing east on Petro Drive intending to turn left on to North SR 15. Ryan was driving her vehicle south on North SR 15. Ryan had her right turn signal to cross over into the right lane. Pratt proceeded to turn left and crossed the right lane on North SR 15. Ryan attempted to avoid the collision, but the front center of her vehicle collided with the left-center of Pratt’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.
4:14 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, East Old Road 30 near Kosciusko Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Debra M. Wurtzel, 64, EMS B8 Lane, Pierceton; and Elizabeth J. Mazakis, 38, East 690 South, Hudson. Wurtzel said she was stopped at the red light on the access road leaving Lake Village Shopping Center and US 30. She said the light turned green and she proceeded to check for traffic while adjusting her glasses. Wurtzel did not see Mazakis’ vehicle stopping in front of her vehicle to turn left on to Kosciusko Drive. Wurtzel swerved her vehicle to miss Mazaki’s vehicle and sideswiped the corner of the passenger side rear bumper of Muzak’s vehicle. Damages up to $2,500.
12:33 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 590 West CR 300 North, Warsaw. Drivers: Selena A. Fernandez, 20, West SR 14, Silver Lake; and Cara L. Pinnick, 60, West Island View Drive, Warsaw. Fernandez said she was backing her vehicle out of a parking spot in a parking lot. She did not see Pinnick’s vehicle, continued backing out of the parking space. The rear driver’s side of Fernandez’s vehicle struck the front driver’s side of Pinnick’s vehicle. Damages up to $2,500.
