Bell Memorial Library To Hold Story Hour Oct. 11
MENTONE — Bell Memorial Public Library will hold the following events in October:
Story Hour will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, in the children’s room. This week’s theme is “Signs of Fall.” Stories to be read are “How Do You Know It’s Fall?” by Ruth Owen; “It’s Fall” by Glinda Glaser; and “Countdown to Fall” by Fran Hawk. Instead of a craft project, kids will be doing a fall scavenger hunt.
Join the library at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, in the large conference room for Movie Monday. The feature film is “Breakthrough.” Tragedy strikes when Joyce Smith’s adopted son, John, falls through the ice on a frozen lake in Missouri. Trapped underwater for more than 15 minutes, rescuers bring John back to the surface and rush him to the nearest hospital. While doctors fear the worst, the 14-year-old boy continues to fight for his life as Joyce, her husband and their pastor stay by his bedside and pray for a miracle. Popcorn and a beverage will be provided.
Log on today to read the following audiobooks on Hoopla Digital: “Hot Winter Nights” by Jill Chavis; “Irresistible” by Andy Stanley; and “I Know You Know” by Gilly McMillan. Kids and teens can browse these titles: “Paddington Takes the Air” by Michael Bond and “Saving Winslow” by Sharon Creech.
New books comings to the library soon include “The Night Fire” by Michael Connelly; “No Judgements” by Meg Cabot; “The Nobody People” by Bob Proehl; “The Official Macgyver Survival Guide” by Ian Cannon; “Olive, Again” by Elizabeth Strout; “The Peanuts Papers” by Andrew Blauner; “The Perfect Seat” by Minh L.; “Quantum” by Patricia Daniels Conrwall; “Renia’s Diary” by Renia Spiegal; “Sapphire Flames” by Ilona Andrews; “Seasons of Love” by Debbie Macomber; “Secrets of a Teenage Heiress” by Katy Birchall; and “The Shape of Night” by Tess Gerritsen.
