MILFORD — The Milford Community Building was jam-packed for hours with revelers from the area enjoying the third annual Milford Block Party Saturday, Sept. 28. The four-hour event was sponsored by Harvest Coffee.
Festivities inside the building included free hot dogs, popcorn, fruit, veggies and drinks; children’s crafts; tables staffed by various charitable and service groups; and music provided by the worship team of Wawasee Community Bible Church.
In the parking lot north of the building, Milford Fire Department vehicles and a John Deere tractor were available for the “Touch a Truck” display.
A cornhole tournament began at 6 p.m., halfway through the 4 to 8 p.m. slotted time for the festival.
The block party was well attended, and the attendees were very engaged. By the end of the first hour, children had colored more than 100 wooden blocks to take home, and the Kiwanis had handed out almost 200 bags of fresh popcorn.
A 5 p.m. estimate was made that the party would total “easily 300” attendees.
