NORTH WEBSTER — RE/MAX Lakes Realtors announced Realtor® Alysia Hammel as its latest addition of the growing real estate franchise, Sept. 19.

Hammel brings to the office more than four years of local real estate experience.

“I’m excited to join the most productive real estate network in the U.S. and heighten the buying and selling experience for my clients,” Hammel said.

With the economy improving, Hammel says it’s a great time to buy real estate.

“Kosciusko and the surrounding counties are in high demand, homes are selling quickly and I’m here to help guide members of the community through the exciting and sometimes overwhelming process,” Hammel said.

Hammel brings to the table many years of teaching experience as a special educator and has a heart for serving others.

She has a passion for seeing the dreams of others become a reality. She is a member of North Webster Church of God and the National Association of Realtors.

In addition to helping community members find the right home, Hammel is also passionate about giving back to her community. Prior to moving to Lake Papakeechie, she owned a farm with her husband. They had many animals and ran a non-profit petting zoo.

The pair often dressed as Shrek and Fiona with their donkey and traveled with the animals to events such as Camp What You Wanna Do, a camp for children with cancer and survivors, Harmony Home, Boomerang Backpacks in Whitley County, Whitley County Harvest Event and more.

Hammel severed as a coach in track for Whitko Schools, Cross Country for Dekalb and Columbia City schools.

In addition, she volunteered on the Ligonier Marshmallow Festival committee, served as a board member for the Whitley County 4H Cat club and has donated many paintings or crafts to various organizations to help raise funds.
