WARSAW — A report of a drowning on the city’s north side turned out to be a false alarm, Warsaw Police said late Thursday afternoon.

Dispatch received a report of an apparent drowning about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5,  inside a fenced-in pond west of Canterbury House Apartments on Husky Trail.

Fire and police responded to the scene, searched the pond and found nothing.

Police also determined that no children had been reported missing.

Warsaw Police spokesman Brad Kellar said the call came in from a mother whose 5-year-old child made the initial claim.

“Nothing found, which is a fortunate thing,” Kellar said.
