Kosciusko

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

4:22 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, Adams Road and EMS R4 Lane, Pierceton. Drivers: Lily R. West, 19, EMS R4B Lane, Pierceton; and Tiffany N. Ralston, 45, West Lincolnway, Columbia City. West’s vehicle struck Ralston’s vehicle as West was coming around a curve in the road and Ralston was pulling onto Adams Road from EMS R4 Lane. Damage up to $25,000. 

2:24 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, East CR 450N, east of North CR 100E, Leesburg. Driver: Melissa A. Stanton, 47, Evergreen Drive, Warsaw. Stanton’s vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole, then struck a tree. Damage up to $10,000. 

9:34 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, East CR 1000N and North CR 500E, Syracuse. Drivers: Nolan K. Kennelly, 29, EMS D24B Lane, Syracuse; and Dana F. Cone, 70, East CR 900N, Syracuse. The vehicles collided at the intersection. Both said their vision was obstructed due to corn. Damage up to $10,000. 

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

9:24 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, Winona Avenue, South Union Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Renee B. Marshall, 44, Pimlico Drive, Warsaw; and Carol S. Krider, 71, Valentine Road, Claypool. The vehicles collided when Marshall proceeded into the intersection, believing it was clear.  Krider complained of pain to her entire left side and neck. A passenger in Krider’s car, Ellen Thomas, 81, Sycamore Street, Silver Lake, complained of head pain. Both were taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital by EMS. Damage up to $5,000. 

8:56 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, Lake City Highway, east of Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Travis D. Huffman, 42, Independence Drive, Elwood; and Jessie L. Savant, 77, Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Huffman left the scene of the accident and was found later by officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office. Savant was proceeding into the intersection to cross Lake City Highway when his light turned green. His vehicle was struck by Huffman’s vehicle, which reportedly ran a red light. Savant complained of hip and upper leg pain and was was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Huffman was also taken to KCH once he was located. Damage up to $10,000. 

Fulton

Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:

7:02 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, SR 17 and CR 300S. Driver: Calvin W. Holloway, 28, Kewanna. Holloway’s vehicle struck a deer.
