Kosciusko

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

8:03 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, South CR 650W, south of West Crystal Lake Road, Warsaw. Driver: Alexis C. Brazo, 24, South CR 700W, Claypool. Brazo was traveling north on CR 650W when a deer entered the roadway. Brazo swerved her vehicle to avoid a collision, causing her vehicle to leave the roadway, strike an REMC utility pole, and knock down approximately five rows of corn. Damage up to $10,000.

6:17 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, East CR 400S, west of South CR 275E, Warsaw. Driver: Curtis L. Sibert, 62, East CR 700S, Warsaw. Sibert was traveling east on East CR 400S and was operating a motorcycle when he struck a cow owned by John B. Ostrom, Warsaw. Sibert complained of left rib pain. The cow sustained no injuries in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.

1:36 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, North CR 300E, south of East CR 700N, Warsaw. Driver: Andrew S. Stevens, 60, West Hillside Drive, Syracuse. Stevens was traveling south on North CR 300E when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.

2:27 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, West CR 900S, west of South CR 750W, Mentone. Driver: Cassandra L. Moore, 32, East Rochester Street, Akron; and James W. Ross, 50, CR 250S Lot 70, Warsaw. Moore was traveling west on CR 950S and attempted to pass Ross’s vehicle. In her attempt to do so, Moore struck Ross’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.

Mentone

Officers with the Mentone Police Department investigated the following accident:

4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, Willow Street, west of Franklin Street, Mentone. Driver: Brian L. Schmehl, 50, West Blair Pike Road, Peru. A tractor pulling a trailer operated by Ladon Martin, Claypool, was stopped at an intersection when Martin backed his trailer into Schmehl’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.

Syracuse

Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:

6:47 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, US 20, west of North CR 850W, LaGrange. Driver: Katherine L. Cole, 27, North Lake Street, Syracuse. Cole said she was in LaGrange County when a dog entered the roadway. Damage up to $1,000.

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

6:12 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, East Center Street, near North Hickory Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Crystal R. Grimm, 38, North CR 175E, Warsaw; and Kaylee R. Owens, 17, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Grimm was traveling west on East Center Street when she rear-ended Owens’ vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.

3:05 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2211 E. Center St., Warsaw. Driver: unknown. Stephanie Chapman said her vehicle was parked at Owens in Warsaw when it sustained damage. Damage up to $2,500.

9:50 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 510 E. Market St., Warsaw. Driver: Eugene Slone, 67, West CR 300S, Warsaw. Slone was traveling west through the Discount Warehouse parking lot when he struck the store’s sign. Damage up to $2,500.

Fulton

Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

10:54 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, West SR 14, Rochester. Driver: David G. Caseley, 71, Star City. Caseley’s vehicle went off the road, striking another vehicle and a mailbox.

3:16 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, SR 25 and CR 375N. Driver: James E. Lawton, 52, Rochester. Lawton’s vehicle went off the roadway into a corn field. He suffered minor bleeding from the head.

10:33 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, CR 400E and Fort Wayne Road. Driver: Sandra J. Campbell, 62, Akron. Campbell’s vehicle struck a deer.

6:10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, North CR 700W, Culver. Driver: Nicole Dilts, 26, Culver. Dilts’ vehicle struck a deer.
