Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following incidents:

• 11:53 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 700 block West Brooklyn Street, Syracuse. Dorothy Gilkey reported theft of $1,700 cash. 
• 7:48 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 400 block Huntington Street, Syracuse. A fraudulent check was taken by Horizon Bank in the amount of $4,900.
