
Karen Evelyn Schmucker, 79, Etna Green she went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 10, 2019, at her home. She was born Aug. 24, 1939, in Marshall County, the daughter of Harley and Edith (Marquet) Brock. Karen married Harold Schmucker on June 14, 1957; he preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 2015.
She was a 1957 graduate of Bourbon High School. She grew up enjoying every aspect of the family farm with her siblings. She enjoyed sewing clothing for her children and grandchildren, baking, camping, riding motorcycles and traveling with beloved Harold. She was very creative and taught her family the value of hard work. She was very kind and giving with her time and would help whenever she could. Those left to cherish her memories are her family and friends whom she loved dearly. Karen was a member of Millwood Chapel where she was a Sunday School Teacher and later Calvary Baptist Church.
Karen Schmucker is survived by five children: Randy (Brenda) Schmucker of Etna Green, Gary Schmucker of Etna Green, Tim (Lori) Schmucker of Nappanee, Roxanne (Juan) Leal of Milford, and Edith (Vincent Renze) Schmucker of Nappanee; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five siblings, Bonnie Brown of South Bend, Thelma Scott of Warsaw, Judy (Sidney) Bobb of Indianapolis, Max (Pam) Brock of Rushville, Rex (Vivian) Brock of Bourbon and Trudy Brock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, six siblings, Art Brock, Eleanor Caplinger, Argil Brock, Jean Ann Artist, Emilie Huffman and Ward Brock
Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 461 W 900 N, Milford and an hour prior to the service at Calvary Baptist Church.
A funeral service in Karen’s honor will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3065 East Armstrong Road, Leesburg, IN 46538 with Pastor Greg Harden officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Stoney Point Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Hospice.
