KOSCIUSKO — World Breastfeeding Week is Aug. 1 through 7. To mark the occasion, the Warsaw WIC office and Kosciusko Community Hospital are hosting a “BIG Latch On” event for all breastfeeding mothers from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Winona Lake Park.

All attending WIC mothers will be entered in prize drawings.

The BIG Latch On is a global event that aims to protect, promote and support breastfeeding families by raising awareness of breastfeeding, encouraging networks of breastfeeding women and normalizing breastfeeding as part of community life.

The first BIG Latch On was in New Zealand in 2005. This year, more than 800 locations around the world will participate.
