Warsaw Library Announces August Activities

WARSAW — The following programs are set to take place in August at the Warsaw Community Public Library.

WorkOne computer and resume/interviewing classes
Contact the library for details. 

Sewing Machine Basics
Instruction will be available Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Participants will learn how to use a machine and make a potholder and registration is requested.

Chess Club
Chess Club meets from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Cookbook Club
Cookbook Club meets at 11 a.m. on Aug. 5 for recipes on Herbal Masterpieces.

Friends Of The Library
Friends of the Library monthly meeting on Aug. 5 at 1 p.m. with a mini book sale Aug. 10 and 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Flower Making
Make it and Take it Button Flowers will be held at 3 p.m. on Aug. 6 and will be available for patrons 12 years and older. The class is free, but registration is requested.

Drop In Zone
Drop in Zone video games/VR is Aug. 7 and teens play from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Adults play from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. Experience Virtual Reality is Aug. 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. for ages 13 and older. 

Book Club
Chapter Chat Book Club meets Aug. 8 at 1 p.m. Participants will meet and discuss the book “Educated” by Tara Westover. 

Quilting
Quilt Club meets at 9:15 a.m. on Aug. 9. 

Writers
Writers Club meets at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 12. Topics include school, westerns, picnics and fairs. 

Attention Computer Geeks
Computer Clinic meets from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 14, and from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 28. Interested patrons are asked to bring electronics for assistance. 

Pokémon
Pokémon Club meets at 4 p.m. on Aug. 14. Interested patrons are asked to bring cards to show and trade. 

Book Signing
Author Tierney Boggs will sign her newly-released book “Gentry and June: a Story for Mom and Dad, Too” on Aug. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Cancer Awareness
Patrons are invited to join Sue Delagrange, a registered dietitian with Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, as she presents “Cancer Fighting Diet” at 1 p.m. on Aug. 26. Registration is requested. 

Art Instruction
Patrons are invited to paint a scene of the Smokey Mountains with Carl Mosher on Aug. 19 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. $20 is due at registration. 

Attention Cooks
Learn how to use an instant pot safely, and what can be cooked under pressure on Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. Registration is requested. 

Other activities include Teen Minecraft on Aug. 27 from 4 to 5:45 p.m. for ages 13 to 17 and Bingo at the library on Aug. 30 from 2 to 3 p.m.
