BREAKING: Blown Transformer Darkens Syracuse

SYRACUSE — A transformer that blew on West High Street, between Mill and Huntington streets, Syracuse, has left most of the town in the dark.

Syracuse Fire Department received the report of a transformer fire at approximately 12:42 p.m. Central dispatch also received reports of the traffic light being out at Main and Huntington and several alarms being activated.

NIPSCO has been notified and is en route.

Customers have received notification from NIPSCO that power is estimated to be returned by 3:45 p.m.
