WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill a woman while in possession of a gun.

Charles David Fennell, 53, 310 W. Center St., Warsaw, is being charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.

On July 5, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department went to a residence regarding a domestic battery report. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer spoke with Fennell and a woman.

According to court documents, the woman said she and Fennell were walking when Fennell began yelling at her. Upon entering the residence, Fennell grabbed the woman by her clothes and threw her to the ground. Fennell forced the woman into the basement and threatened to kill her. The woman stated that when Fennell made this threat, he grabbed a handgun that was in the basement.

The officer went into the basement and found a .22 caliber handgun and numerous rifles. All of the firearms were confiscated.

Fennell has already been arrested and released on a $6,000 surety and cash bond. He has an initial hearing at 1 p.m. Aug. 5, in Kosciusko Superior II Court.
