
Mr. James L. Arnett, 67, Rochester, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at 1:47 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Parkview Hospital of Fort Wayne.
In Rensselaer, on Nov. 19, 1951, James Leonard Arnett was born to Toy Rex and Mary Lee Baldridge Arnett Sr. Growing up as one of the nine Arnett kids, Jim shared his childhood with four sisters and four brothers. In 1971, Jim graduated from Rochester High School. He was a lifetime Fulton County resident.
Jim and Debora Jeanne Sherrard were married on Jan. 17, 1971. They have shared 48 years of life’s adventures.
Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife, Debbie; a daughter, Jennifer Shaw, Rochester; two sons: James W. Arnett, Valparaiso and fiancé Monica Young, Rockford, Ill., and Jason S. Arnett and wife Tiffany, Fort Wayne; four grandchildren: James William Arnett, Bram Michael Arnett, Aleah Marie Arnett, Ella Jeanne Arnett; one sister, Wanda Lee Carter and husband Lorenzo, Destin, Fla.: three brothers: Charles Ernest Arnett and wife Norma, Culver, Toy Rex Arnett Jr., Destin, Fla., Thomas Arnett and wife Karen, Destin, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jim in death are his parents; son-in-law, John Shaw; three sisters: Hazel Wacs, Jewel Maddox, Garnet Clapp; and brother Joseph Arnett.
A celebration of the life of James L. Arnett will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2019, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester. His son, Rev. James W. Arnett, will officiate.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019, and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
