Warm Temps, Lingering Chance Of Storms Expected This Week, NWS Says

Henry Hyser, fresh off his first birthday, was with his family Monday at Center Lake beach in Warsaw. Henry lives in Columbia City. He and much of northern Indiana residents can expect warm temperatures through the week, according to the National Weather Service.

KOSCIUSKO — This week’s forecast for northern Indiana has a theme: high temperatures in the upper 80s and a continuing chance of thunderstorms each day.

The National Weather Service predicts temperatures will rise to the upper 80s and 90 through Friday.

Each day and night will include a chance of storms.

Tonight’s forecast includes a 30 percent chance of rain and a low near 71.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny and hot with a high near 90. The heat index will be upward of 96. Winds will be light and the chance of storms is 30 percent, the weather service said.

Wednesday and Thursday (Fourth of July) both include a 70 percent chance of storms with highs in the upper 80s.

Friday will include a 70 percent chance of rain and a high near 86.

High temps for the weekend will be in the mid to lower 80s and a chance of rain will linger.
