KOSCIUSKO — A downed tree took down a power line, resulting in the closure of US 30, starting west of Warsaw and going for at least 2 miles.

Utility crews are working to address the problem. According to NIPSCO, US 30 is expected to be open in the next two hours.

As of approximately 4 a.m., multiple NIPSCO customers were without power in the areas of Warsaw, Silver Lake, Claypool and Mentone, with a total of 2,135 NIPSCO customers affected in those areas.
