NAPPANEE — Indiana National Guard Spc. Damian Weaver, of Nappanee, receives his new rank during a promotion ceremony at Fort Hood, Texas, Friday, May 31.

Weaver, a mechanic, is one of approximately 600 citizen-soldiers with the 38th Infantry Division who is preparing to deploy to Kuwait to provide command and control of nearly 9,000 U.S. service members to foster partnerships among allied nations.
