Eagles Hosting Annual People Helping People Fundraising Weekend

SYRACUSE — Lakeland Eagles Aerie & Auxiliary 3760 Syracuse will present its eighth annual People Helping People fundraising weekend, May 17-19. This event benefits FOE Ronald McDonald House Family Room at Riley Children’s Hospital and the Lakeland area first responders.

The Eagles is located on Kern Road, Syracuse.

Friday evening events include: a fish dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. and a silent auction from 5 to 9 p.m. There will be horse races, raffle drawings, 50/50 and tip board.

Events slated for Saturday, May 18, include a golf outing, better known as a Hackers Scramble, at South Shore Golf Club, 10601 N. SR 13, Syracuse. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $70 per golfer. Interested individuals can sign up until registration.

Back at the Eagles Lodge, there will be a sub sandwich lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with raffle drawings. A silent auction will be from 5 to 9 p.m. with a tenderloin dinner being served from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be 50/50 raffles, tip boards all day and night.

The drawing for the golf cart raffle, a 2018 E-Z-Go gasoline golf cart, will be at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 each or three for $25. Participants need not be present to win.

Denny Carroll will provide the entertainment both Friday and Saturday  from 7 to 11 p.m.

There is lot more happening and persons are invited to join others for a weekend of food, fun and fraternalism.
