WARSAW — The Northern Indiana Lakes Festival provides an educational and recreational experience focused on the waterways of Kosciusko County. The public is invited to come for the food trucks and parade and stay for the workshops. Anyone interested may sign up for one, or both, today.

Rain Barrel Workshop – Sign Up

Due to the popularity at last year’s Lakes Festival, the Rain Barrel workshop was on a waiting list. At the 2019 Festival, there will be sessions at 9 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the benefits of rain barrels, and how to install and maintain them. Participants can then build their own to take home.

Native Plant Workshop – Sign Up

The first-ever Lakes Festival native plant workshop will be led by Mike Van Laeken, director of restoration services at Heartland Restoration Services, Inc.  Participants will learn about the benefits of planting native species and how to start and maintain a native garden. Those who sign up will then put together their own starter plot to take home.
