Jerry Leroy Searls, 57, Syracuse, formerly of Coco, Fla., passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019, at his brother’s home. He was born on Jan. 21, 1962, in Goshen, to Jack Leroy and Kay Frances (Stouder) Searls.

He grew up in Cromwell area, attended West Noble High School, and lived in Florida for many years before moving to Angola and Syracuse to be near family in 2019. He worked for various landscaping companies for most of his life.

He is survived by his mother, Kay Kemper, Angola; father, Jack Searls, Warsaw; sister, Jackie (Forrest) Searls, Shipshewana; three brothers: Rick (Jan) Searls of Syracuse, Fred (Sheila) Searls of Plymouth, and Anthony (Krista) Searls of Coldwater, Mich. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. No services are planned. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
