BREMEN – Tippecanoe Valley gained a win, but also a pair of losses, in its work at Saturday’s Bremen Tennis Invite.

In the round robin team tourney, Valley pulled off a 3-2 win over North Judson, but lost 4-1 to Wabash and 5-0 to Bremen. The Lions were unbeaten in its three duals to claim the team title for the afternoon at DeSantis Courts.

Round one saw Valley’s Hannah Parson win the pivotal match, going 6-3, 1-6, 11-9 over Judson’s Cora Sallee. Also beating Blue Jays were both Valley doubles teams, the duo of Tiphanie Hodge and Makenna Bradley besting Alex Trout and Miranda Anderson 7-6, 6-1, as well as the duo of Kaitlin Neese and Haley Baker dropping Lilly Ferguson and Grace Allender 6-2, 7-6.

Hodge and Bradley earned the lone win against the Apaches, taking care of Haley Miller and Camille Kugler 6-3, 6-3 in a preview match of the April 30 Three Rivers Conference dual.

Bremen held Valley’s singles competitors to just two games and scattered just seven games to the doubles tandems in a show of force as the winds continued to whip through DeSantis during round three.

The 1-2 finish for Valley moves the Vikings to 3-2 overall for the season. Valley is scheduled to finish its suspended dual with Triton Monday – which Triton leads 2-1 with a pair of singles courts to finish. Valley then play Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
