
WARSAW 3, NORTHRIDGE 2
Warsaw and Northridge battled through a tough Northern Lakes Conference match in the Kosciusko County seat.
Three of the five varsity courts went three sets, with Warsaw landing on the winning side of two of them. At No. 1 doubles, Raegan Merchant and Rachel Yeager rallied from a set down to Cassidy Overhold and Peyton Kieper to claim a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory. At No. 2 doubles, Maddie Ray and Amy Herendeen started out with a 6-4 first set win, but fell 7-6 (7-5) in the second set before rallying for a 6-1 third.
Warsaw also had Taylor Schoaf at No. 2 singles beat Brynne Gayler 6-3, 6-4.
Ridge came through with a No. 1 singles win from Riley Wheatly, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 against Alyssa Zellers and at No. 3 singles Taylin Cress, a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Rachel Boyle.
Warsaw won six of the seven JV courts, with Izzy Ray, Gracie Lewis and Anastasia Kalikova earning singles wins.
Warsaw (2-1, 1-1 NLC) visit Fairfield Thursday.
TRITON 4, LAVILLE 1
Triton claimed a Hoosier North Athletic Conference victory Wednesday in taking down the Lancers in Lakeville.
Ivy Powell led the way at No. 3 singles for the Trojans with a one and one win against Allison Gadacz. Triton also got a singles win from Maddie Ritchison in a 6-1, 7-5 triumph over Taylor Garrett.
Doubles play both went to Triton, where the No. 1 team of Emma Hepler and Lexia Hostrawser polished off a two and love victory against Bre Daniels and Ally Maenhout while Haley Hooley and Madison Davis beat Mackenzie Stephenson and Grace Carlisle three and one.
LaVille got its lone court win at No. 1 singles, where Charlet Kapke improved from a 7-6 (5) opening set to blank Molly McFarland in the second set.
Lilly Hubert, Sadie Barber and Lennon Richie all got JV singles wins on the day.
Triton (3-3, 1-2 HNAC) will play again next Wednesday at North Judson.
