NORTH WEBSTER — The North Webster American Legion Post 253 Junior Sharpshooters took second place in the Indiana American Legion State Championships held on March 16.

Four of the team’s shooters placed in the top 16 out of 69 total participants. First-year shooter Isaiah Jerue was not fazed by tournament pressure as he placed 13th overall, in addition to taking second place with a score of 94 in the prone position portion of the competition. His score for all three segments of the competition was 237.

Top Post 253 shooter Suzen Lauber, who placed 12th in the 2018 championship, finished eighth this year. She too was recognized for her individual effort, finishing third with a score of 80 in the standing portion of the competition. Her overall score was 248.

Another top shooter, Joey Sunday, finished 14th with a combined score of 236, and Myles Lauber placed 16th at 235.
