WAWASEE 3, MANCHESTER 2
Bethany Flannery pitched her finest game of the season, and with a little help from a brutal wind coming off the hill, the combo afforded Wawasee a nice win over Manchester Friday afternoon.
Flannery scattered seven hits in a complete game effort, striking out two, but more importantly, keeping a talented Manchester off the bases.
The Squires did break through in the sixth, with a pair of doubles from Kindra Stetzel and Avery Howard allowed Emma Garriott to step to the plate and lace a triple, bringing home both Stetzel and Howard to give Manchester a 2-1 lead.
Wawasee, which was the road team despite hosting because of poor field conditions in Manchester as the original site, responded in the seventh.
Madison Mottern reached on an error, and courtesy runner Ava Rush reached third after Marissa Hunziker cracked a double. After a walk to Abi Smith, Stetzel dealt to Delaney Hare, who grounded out to second, but brought in the tying run. Faith Swihart then took the stage and ripped a shot to third, which brought home Hunziker with the go-ahead run.
Flannery took it from there, getting a fly out and two groundouts to end the contest.
Hare added the other RBI earlier in the game on a groundout.
Manchester hung innings of eight and seven runs during the 17-6 JV result. Laney Gross had a homer for the Wawasee and both Katy Flannery and Kasey Gunkel doubled for the Warriors.
Wawasee (3-4) take on Triton Saturday then will jump into Northern Lakes Conference play Monday in visiting Warsaw.
TIPPECANOE VALLEY 15, PLYMOUTH 0

Howard allowed just three hits, walked none, and struck out five in the complete game shutout.
The Vikings pounded out 16 hits, with three each from Amy Baca, Kirstyn Yoder and Alex Gomez. Yoder had a homer, drove in three and scored four runs while Gomez and Baca each scored three runs. Brayden Baney had a double and drove in four runs as eight different Vikings got at least one hit.
Sydney Rhamey had three hits and drove in four runs as the Valley JV also coasted in a 17-1 final. Rhamey also got the pitching win, striking out eight on a two-hitter.
