MENTONE — Mentone emergency responders were dispatched to a report of a female subject struck and killed by a train in the area of SR 25 and Franklin Street, Mentone, just before 5 p.m. today, April 8.

The female was declared deceased upon arrival. Identification will be released once proper notification is made.

Mentone Fire Department, Mentone Police Department, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police responded to the scene.

Traffic is limited in the area while the emergency responders remain on scene. No further information is available at this time.
