Carl E. Chupp, 72, Goshen, passed away Friday, March 29, 2019, at Courtyard Healthcare.

He was born Oct. 7, 1946, in Batavia, N.Y., to Jacob Chupp and Edith (Ressler) Holmes.

On Feb. 25, 1967, he married Loretta Birkey, who survives along with two children: Craig (Maria) Chupp, New Paris; and Carla (Ryan) Johnson, Mishawaka; six grandchildren: Matthew (Haley) Chupp, Kaylena and Cody Chupp, Kaleb and Elizabeth Johnson; five brothers: Charles (Diane), Ezra (Phyllis), Don (Janet), Marvin (Connie) and Melvin (Heidi) Chupp; and a sister: Grace (Lon) Shupp.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter: Mya Chupp.

A member of Pleasant View Church, he was last employed by Elkhart County Parks Department. He loved the outdoors and particularly enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood cutting.

He made custom fishing rods and in 2000 turned his hobby into a business, known as Slick Stick Custom Rods.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 1, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday at Pleasant View Church, Goshen.
