
Lloyd Whitaker, 65, Silver Lake, passed away at 11:25 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2019, in his residence. He was born on May 4, 1953, to Ellis and Maxine (Spradlin) Whitaker in Prestonsburg, Ky.
He was united in marriage on May 21, 1971, to Pearlie (Prater) in Silver Lake.
He was a union carpenter for many years, working as a supervisor for the last five years before retiring. He built many hospitals, including many of them in Fort Wayne. He was a member of the Carpenters Union local 232, Fort Wayne.
He loved taking care of his lawn, especially omitting Dandelions! Also he enjoyed being with his grandchildren, riding his motorcycles and hanging out with his friends at the local Pub.
He is survived by his wife Pearlie Whitaker; a son Scott (Kelly) Whitaker both of Silver Lake; a daughter, Angela (Matt) Guiff of North Manchester; grandchildren: Zachary Whitaker of Warsaw; Paige (Seth) Laughner of Indianapolis; Lauryn Gossett of North Manchester; great grandchildren: Benjamin and Aubrey Whitaker, both of Warsaw; his brother and sisters-in-law: Jay (Pam) Ancil II, Junior (Ruby) Crace, both of Warsaw; Harry (Edath) Crace of Silver Lake; Johnny Pennington of Prestonsburg; and Irene Risner of Silver Lake; also numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his parents, a grandson Austin Ellis Whitaker, brother in laws, Paul Risner, Burley and Alvin Prater.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
Funeral Services will beat 11 a.m., Thursday, March 21, at the funeral chapel with Pastor Harry Crace officiating. Interment will follow in Lakevew Cemetery Silver Lake.
