
Janina L. Haines, 83, Elkhart, died at 10:45 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2019, at the Elkhart Center for Hospice Care, after a two year illness.
She was born Aug. 23, 1935, in Nappanee to Laural and Ruth (Cleveland) Clingenpeel. On Jan. 5, 2007, she married John Haines in Elkhart.
Mrs. Haines attended Nappanee High School. She had worked at Homecrest in Goshen for many years, and also had worked at Goshen Hospital. She enjoyed reading, going to Flea Markets, shopping and playing on the computer/tablet.
She is survived by her husband, John Haines, Elkhart; son, Rick Garman, Battle Creek, Mich.; daughters: Rhonda Garman, Elkhart; Rita Garman, Goshen; Susan Haines (Kevin Whiteoak), Dowagiac, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildrenen; brothers: David (Cindy) Clark, Warsaw; Stephen (Melody) Clingenpeel, Ky.; Brent Clingenpeel, Ky.; sisters, Cindy (Dorsey) Clark Simmons, Fort Wayne; Diane (Dave) Ryman, Atwood, and Brenda (Michael) Brown, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Yvonne, Micky, and Sharon.
Family and friends may call from 4-7:30 p.m., Friday, March 15, and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service, Saturday, March 16, all at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa.
Pastor Stephen Clingenpeel, Janina’s brother, will officiate.
Cremation will take place after services.
Inurnment will be in South Union Cemetery at a later date.
