North Webster Library Receives Dekko Pledge Towards New Facility
NORTH WEBSTER — The Board of Trustees of North Webster Community Public Library announces that the library has received a $500,000 pledge from Dekko Foundation towards the building of a new library facility.
Committed to fostering economic freedom through education, Dekko Foundation has offered this investment in the form of a pledge contingent upon the library securing the remaining funds of $4,100,000 which the library will do through fundraising, bonds and savings.
In awarding the pledge, the foundation states, “We understand the vital role that your library plays in your community and believe that the proposed new building will allow you to be even more impactful.”
The North Webster Library has obtained ownership of the south end of the North Webster Community Center which once housed the old North Webster High School. Demolition of that section of the building will begin in April. Once the land is cleared, the library plans to begin construction on its new facility in June with completion scheduled for early 2020.
North Webster Community Public Library is currently located in the north end of the North Webster Community Center, 301 N. Main St., and will continue to serve its patrons at its present location throughout the construction process.
