WARSAW — A North Manchester man was arrested after battering a female subject.

Colt James Hubler, 24, 208 E. 2nd St., North Manchester, was booked for domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor; and domestic battery with a prior conviction, a level 6 felony.

On Jan. 8, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department was dispatched to Sands Office Supply regarding a domestic disturbance. Dispatch advised a female subject arrived at the store and requested police be called.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the female and her brother-in-law, identified as Hubler, were in her vehicle traveling to a trailer park. While in the vehicle, an altercation occurred. Hubler struck the female in the face with his hand, causing her pain to her nose and left eye. Hubler then stopped the vehicle, with both he and the female exiting the vehicle and having a verbal altercation.

The female said Hubler then struck her in the head with a closed fist. She left the scene and ran to Sands Office Supply to get assistance. Hubler took the keys to the vehicle, threw them into a nearby parking lot, and left the scene.

The officer observed bruising on the left eye of the female subject and a bump on the left side of her head. The female advised that she and Hubler were involved in a sexual relationship with each other.

Hubler has a prior conviction of domestic battery in Kosciusko County and was convicted in that case on Feb. 2, 2017.

He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail Feb. 19, with a $3,750 surety and cash bond.
