Carmen Yutzy, 52, New Paris, died peacefully at 9:18 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, at her residence. She had been in ill health for one year and nine months.

She was born March 20, 1966, in Elkhart to Gerald J. and Pauline (Skiles) Martin. She graduated from NorthWood High School. On March 19, 1988, she married Chadwick Yutzy at Bethel Church. She was a homemaker and for over 27 years she enjoyed doing bookkeeping for the family business, Pine Cone Shavings. She enjoyed her grandkids and supporting her family.  She enjoyed cheering on her kids in school and sporting events.

She is survived by her husband: Chad Yutzy; children: Dustin (Jennifer) Yutzy, Alberta, Canada; Adam (Erika) Yutzy, Nappanee; Meghan (Andre) Byler, Wakarusa; Alex (Amanda) Yutzy, Nappanee; grandchildren: Katelyn, Amanda, and Allison (Dustin’s children); Chase, Myles, and Liam (Adam’s children); Dominic (Alex’s child); her mother: Pauline Martin, Elkhart;  siblings: Ronald (Ina) Martin, Elkhart; Sheryl (Steve) Weaver, Goshen; Kermit (Elsie) Martin, Pa.; Gloria (Denny) Martin, Goshen; and Deanna (Steve) Chupp, Nappanee; mother and father-in-law: Ronald and Judith Yutzy, Nappanee; grandmothers: Marjorie Biltz, Mishawaka; and Dorothy Yutzy, OH.

She was preceded in death by her father: Gerald J. Martin.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Feb 18, and 2 to 4 p.m. and  6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19 at Living Water Mennonite Church, 2815 Dierdorff Road, Goshen, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral services on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Nappanee Missionary Church. Marvin Troyer, Todd Neuschwander, and Trevor Nice will officiate.

Burial will follow in Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery. Dewayne Kurtz will officiate.

Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
