Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:

7:43 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, South CR 600W, north of West CR 500S, Mentone. Driver: Michael A. Heady, 37, South Woodland Hills Drive, Warsaw. Heady’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $10,000 

Syracuse

Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:

4:11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, North Huntington Street, north of North Main Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Alexander D. Escobar, 20, US 33, Churubusco; Mindy R. Bernicky, 40, East CR 900S, Claypool. Escobar told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on Huntington Street when he said he fell asleep, causing his vehicle to rear-end the vehicle driven by Bernicky. Damage up to $2,500.
