WARSAW – After a breakout junior season, Lanae Dawson caught the attention of Jeff Raymond and Grace College’s track program. Dawson decided to make the very short trip from Warsaw to Winona Lake to continue her throwing career with the Lancers after her signing with the school.

Dawson had been a top-10 thrower her freshman and sophomore years for the Tiger track program, finishing 10th in the sectional as a freshman in the shot put and then seventh as a sophomore in discus. The jump to junior year was where Dawson made the biggest strides, finishing first in the sectional in shot put at 34-0.25 and third in discus at 103-10 to qualify for the regional in both for the first time. Her shot put winner at the sectional was her personal best.

In the regional, Dawson threw a career-best 106-10 in discus to finish seventh overall and went 33-09.25 for 12th in the shot put.

Dawson will join Raymond’s throwing team that includes Brooke Treadway, Claire Lehman-Schletewitz, Taylor Collins and Emily Anderson.
