
Kenneth “Ken” Hampton, 86, North Webster, passed away at 8:50 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, in Goshen Hospital.
He was born on Sept. 25, 1932, in Hastings, Mich. to Garner and Mable (Armour) Hampton.
Ken grew up in Hastings, Mich. and then moved to Marion for work for 18 years, he then moved to the Warsaw area where he remained for the rest of his life.
He married Bonnie Singleton on Sept. 30, 1950, in Hastings, Mich. She passed away on May 31, 1987. He then was united in marriage on Oct. 17, 1987, to Charlene Busz Hale in Warsaw.
He retired from Flex Steel in New Paris, and during his retirement years he drove a school bus for Warsaw Community Schools. He attended Redeemer Lutheran Church in Warsaw and was also a Freemason. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and Chicago Bears Football. Above all he was a family man and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife; Charlene Hampton of North Webster; sons; Doug (Cindy) Hampton of Warsaw; Mark (Sarah) Hampton of Portland, Maine; Matthew Hampton of Chicago, Ill.; Kenneth (Susan) Hampton II of Sanford, Maine; Daniel (Katie) Hampton of Warsaw; daughters: Joni (Donald) Novick of Charlotte, N.C., Christy (Ron) Adams of North Webster; step-daughters: Misty Hale of Defiance, Ohio; Lisa (Tom) Surbaugh of Ohio; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his first wife, a son; Steven Hampton, and two sisters.
Visitation hours will be held from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Immediately following visitation, a Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Pastor Jerry Yoder will officiate the Memorial Service. A procession to interment will take place immediately following the Memorial Service and will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
