Do you want your home permanently memorialized with a pen and ink home portrait? You are at the right place! Brenda Ramseier has piled up many credits to her artistic collection and this includes over 200 pen and ink works of art depicting homes of her clients.

Ramseier has won awards and exhibits at highly competitive events such as The Hoosier Salon, The Clark Gallery at the Honeywell Center, The Anderson Center For The Arts, and Ventures in Creativity in Fort Wayne. She received a high honor just last year when she was invited to a solo exhibit of her work at the Clark Gallery.

Her qualifications are just as impressive as the work she creates. A graduate of Bob Jones University, she followed up with additional education at Manchester and Purdue Universities where she received teaching credentials.

Pen and ink creations are favorites but watercolor work also has a place in her heart. For subject matter, she finds herself surrounded by enticing scenery such as barns, old farm buildings, natural things like the light cast on treetops, shadowy shapes within an old structure, and even dried leaves attract her with their multi-colored shapes and forms. Living on a farm also provides much of her inspiration.

“I love realistic work, with still the artist’s impressionistic flair added so it is not just a photograph,” said Ramseier. “Common, ordinary objects fascinate me. We so often overlook those because we see them every day, but some of the most beautiful subjects are right at home with us — including the people with whom we live.”

The Lakeland Art Gallery will hold her exhibit from Feb. 6 through March 3. It is open from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Ramseier also can be found at her gallery “The Art Giraffe” in Wabash County, between North Manchester and Akron.

• The Mary Alice Estep exhibit will be on display through March 4 at the Warsaw City Hall Art Gallery. Be sure to wander through both areas containing the artwork. This is a fantastic display showing her development as an artist throughout her life. It is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday except holidays. A few of the paintings are for sale by the owners.
• The Honeywell 92 County Art Show will be on display at the Clark Gallery, Wabash, through Feb. 18.
